Calm in the Storm for Parents of Anxious Children

Coaching for Parents of Kids with Anxiety

Parenting is a marathon, not a sprint. Especially when your children face their own unique challenges. As a mom to neurodivergent kids with anxiety, I've been through the wringer and back.

Neurodivergence

"Neurodivergence”, in its most simplistic form, means a brain that functions differently. It is very common to have a child that falls into this category and while helping them understand themselves and learn can present issues, these children tend to be highly intelligent and often very creative.

During my darkest hours, I found a mentor who walked with me. I don’t know how I would have survived without her. She didn’t fix anything- she couldn’t. She held space, she understood, was empathetic, caring, present. The talks we had gave me peace, energy and hope. She gave me tools and resources. She told me stories of others’ and provided some perspective and hope. This experience profoundly changed how I parented and led to more and more peace in our house, and most importantly, in myself. I believe it also had everything to do with how well myself, my kids and family as a whole, came through that season. That experience inspires me today to be that support and space holder for other parents on this path. You are not alone.
